Is this legal?

A single point sling is never useful unless you just want a ball beating in a stress situation.

You ain't using it right. A single point sling on a KelTec Sub200, slung under one arm and folded makes the gun totally invisible under a jacket and extends into battery, ready to fire in seconds. Single point is also great for AR pistols used the same way.

I am takling about shooting, not carrying... You hold out on the sling and you are nearly as stable as if you had a stock.

I think the technique was developed by the SAS. Set the sling length properly and push hard forward against the weapon and it is very stable and controllable.

Well I had a semi closed bolt Cobray M12 380 back in the late 90s. I ordered the old Cobray strap hanger that hung from a slightly angled bracket around the barrel. But my point is that the old canvas strap that looked a lot like the grab handles in old VW Beetle could hang straight down when not being grabbed or be pulled back at somewhat of an angle when firing. So was that legal or not? Too many damn variables and grey area potential pitfalls with current gun law.

They are ok for toys, which is what any rifle caliber pistol is IMO.

Haven't handled one on a S2000. Maybe there is a firearm after all!

Let me demonstrate how much more dangerous a vertical foregrip is.

\ see how safe and unimposing that is?

l HOLY CRAP!!!!! Geez I think I almost killed three people posting that!!

Be save out there, and remember, safety is all in the angle.

I wish all that would fit in my signature line.

They are good for your stated purpose. They suck if you are spending a day with your firearm that includes movement unrelated to going <bang>...working, hiking, etc
