Ishapore Bolt

Have a nice old Ishapore that was shooting fine but suddenly the bolt does not engage "cock" when I close it. Any trouble shooting tips?

Obviously the problem's with your *******, but I've no idea what that is. Have you checked the lugs on the screw on bolt head and the chamber ?

Is the bolt head turned all the way down?

Or do you mean it won't pick another round from the magazine? Or you can't close the bolt?

As far as I can tell it's turned all the way down. I will take a pic or maybe a video of bolt later and post. Thank you

I can close the bolt. The trigger doesn't engage when I close the bolt. It's a dead trigger

Sounds like it's failing to "rooster" when you close the bolt.

Have you pulled the bolt out and looked to see if the sear moves when you pull the trigger ? It's a simple system, so working out what's broken should be straightforward.

Yes as StuP says. It's a bog simple trigger mechanism.

Thanks guys. I haven't messed with it much yet. I will take it out and take a closer look and post what I find. Hopefully it's a simple fix
