It’s November!

It’s November and we are now less than 3 weeks away until the opening of the first split of duck season! I’ll let the deer pacify me for the next couple of weeks, but then it’s ON! Anyone else jacked up about it?! Anybody taking any trips this year?

Maybe go up to South Fork in Royston. Finally got some time with our middle son and he shot his first pheasant this past Saturday.

I was there Saturday picking up birds with my Boykin….. had to have saw you….. might have even retrieved your bird!

At least there are a few other Duck hunters here. Judging by this thread, you'd think it would be easier to find duck holes to hunt! I would love to put together something out of state this year, but it doesn't look like it will be in the cards. You never know though, sometimes things happen in the spur of the moment. I've been to Arkansas the last two years, but would like to try Kansas or Oklahoma next time.

We short opening weekend. 12 woodies and a pair of mallards. Unless my memory fails me. Those were the first mallards I’ve ever shot on opening weekend. It’s usually closer to Christmas before we start getting those around. I don’t know about any trips anywhere. If I go quail hunting out west and run into ducks while I’m there then we will hunt those too.
