Item Description: I am selling my 1998 John Deere 955 that I bought from another member here 3 years ago. The tractor runs and drives great and everything but the lights and seatbelt work as they should.
It has 4 wheel drive with turf tires and I added chains to the rear for better traction. I have used it with a box blade, finish mower, bush hog, auger, boom pole and wood chipper. It has plenty of power to run a 5 foot bush hog on my property but I've never tried to cut high weeds in a field. It has run everything I have asked it to without complaining. I've never had to add oil between changes and it does not smoke or have any odd noises.
I do have the other side cover but it needs the mounting tabs welded back on before it can be mounted.
I will include the 7 suitcase weights that I bought for it. The tractor is light for the amount of power it has and I live on a hill so those are needed to keep the front tires securely on the ground.
The land pride rotary cutter in the pics is NOT included and is not for sale but is on site so you can confirm that the lift arms and PTO work as they should.
The only reason I am selling is that I bought a larger tractor with a loader. The only partial trades I would be interested in would be skid steer quick attach forks and/or grapple or a three point backhoe.
I might also trade for a dump truck or dump trailer.
I'm posting here before posting to Craigslist or Facebook as I would prefer to deal with someone from the ODT than the scammers on other sites.
