Item Description: Got this from another member about a month ago. Shoots fine but slide does get stuck when you rack the slide back and use the slide stop. It only does it with your use the slide stop. Took it apart and internals look good. Put 100 FMJ and 8 rounds of JHP and it fed fine. I’m just getting into 1911s so not sure what can be the issue. I’m open to trades as well. Live in Acworth but will be in Lawrenceville today. Come with one 8 Round Mag.

Not really sure, is there a way to tell on the frame?
Should have ESSEX ARMS CORP. stamped on the right side of frame, above trigger. The early frames produced by Essex were known to have mis-located the pin holes that hold the internals in place, which caused function issues. They have since corrected that problem. See attached photo:

neg on the Essex, doesn’t have the stamp. serial number starts with NLMO

If you have a standard recoil spring assembly instead of the full length rod you may try swapping them over. There could be a tolerance issue and the full length rod is binding the slide. Look for unusual wear marks inside the frame, on the barrel, and inside of the slide. That may tell you what’s going on. If I had the extra money I’d buy it myself! Good deal.
