Also- this system uses a thermal bypass valve to recirculate the hot water and even if your house is not plumbed in a “loop” you can add a thermal bypass valve to any sink to recirculate the hot water from.

you can put those in even if you have a tank water heater. The big advantage of having a tankless water heater is once the hot water gets to a fixture it is continuous and you never run out of hot water.

Yes sir you can, but still will need to put a pump on the tank heater as well.
Yes, the advantages of the tankless are “endless” hot water.

The idea behind the recirculating pump is so you don’t have to wait so long for hot water to reach the fixture from the heater, it will already be recirculated at the fixture
