I've always wondered how serious is the recoil on the S&W 500 revolver with a short barrel (4" or less)? Does less length decrease performance?

I dont know about velocity change but I've had a 4" and 8" , shot 300gr hornady, 350gr magtech and 500gr hornady. its no joke but if you can handle a 686 2.5" 357 mag you can probably handle this. it doesn't kick too much more then a hot 44mag in a scandium framed smith, then again its been a while.
