Manufactured in 1987, this beauty has desirable features no longer available on today's modern machine-made guns- like a hammer-mounted firing pin, Pre-Mim parts, and of course, the absence of that ugly lock.
Historical Information:
One of the largest non-military purchasers of S&W firearms has always been the New York City Police Department. While a variety of S&W handguns have been used by the NYCPD since the early 20th century, the most prevalent models have been the Military & Police/ M10 and the Chiefs Special/M36. In 1987 the New York City Police Department amended its regulations to require that all newly purchased handguns have a stainless steel finish and fire Double-action only (DAO). These regulations led to the adoption of the Model 64 NY-1 and the Model 60 NY-1, both non-cataloged factory variations of the stainless steel versions of the M10 and M36.
The total production for 64 NY 4" SB was approximately 2,469 units
If you cannot travel, I am happy to ship the revolver.
