Item Description: Selling my mistake!

Back in 1997-98 I read "Unintended Consequences" by John Ross. The protagonist had a Winchester 63 and I thought it sounded like a great gun, so I grabbed a Shotgun News and ordered one.

There were no photos but the dealer described it as "honest use." He was less-than-honest. I will never buy another gun sight unseen 😡

I paid waaaaay more than I'm selling it for. Call it a lesson learned.

But it shoots great! I've taken several squirrels with it. Its balance is fantastic and it wants leap to your shoulder. The bore is shiny.

I need to sell it because it reminds of my mistake, like seeing the first wife all over town👀

Go check online and see what folks are asking for these!

Here's what's going on:

The nice walnut stock has plug repair in it. I assume someone drilled a hole in it for a sling. It's a well-done plug.

The receiver is drilled and tapped for a scope. I don't know what kind of scope mount took weird holes but here we are. At least they're plugged.

Lots of thin spots in the bluing. This gun was carried a lot. Look around the trigger guard. At least the upper and lower match.

There is a thin spot in the bluing halfway down the barrel. I don't know if it was leaned against a wet rag or the prior owner held it in his left hand.

Anyway, enough ranting. It's a good shooter that's too ugly to be a wall hanger. And I think it's still better than a 10/22

Thanks for reading this far
