Item Description: I recently picked this 1911 up in rough shape. Someone tried to polish it and did a horrendous job at it (pics included). I spent about 12 hours yesterday hand buffing it to get it where it is now but it still needs a little more work to make it perfect. Also, the gun could use new sights. I’ve also installed new mag pul grips and screws.

pics with the brown counter top are before pictures.

comes with an 8 round mag. No box or anything else.

trade wise I’m I’d be interested in AKs, less expensive 1911s plus cash as I don’t really need something this nice.

Typical I try to price based on similar guns in here but since there aren’t any I checked gun broker and there’s only one. It’s new and has bids for $1800 so I guess $500 less seems fair.

Great job on the restoration, looks much better. The “original” grips have to be the ugliest grips I’ve ever seen. New ones much better. GLWS

Thank you sir. Some people need to stay away from “customizing” firearms. Not that I’m a professional or anything but I know my limits lol

I hate to say this, but the original grips look like the supposed 'turd' that Bill Murray was squeegeeing out of the drained swimming pool in 'Caddyshack'. With the exception that Bill actually swept up a Baby Ruth. Those look like real turds to me. Nice restoration!

Sadly it took a huge hit in value when the special guy tried to polish it.. never will be a show piece again. Now it's a truck gun lol. My guess is someone bought it, it got stolen and the guy couldn't remember the serial to report it so it never made the list.. then thief sells it, changes hands a few times until it reaches Mr full blown retard. Nobody that paid retail for that could be dumb enough to Dremel it
