Item Name: FS LOSS OF PATIENCE SALE!!! Desert Eagle .357 $750

Location: Atlanta

Zip Code: 30316

Item is for: Sale Only
Sale Price: 750

Caliber: .357 Mag

Willing to Ship: No

Bill of Sale Required?: No

Item Description: The most finicky, jam-o-matic boat anchor I ever did see...

Up for grabs is an Israeli-made Mk I/VII Desert Eagle in .357 Magnum. Made in August 1988 per Magnum Research. Uncommon two-tone finish, has that nice "plum" sorta blue like some Makarovs.

Blowing it out cheap because I'm sick of #<:(ing with it. Some "pro tips" I've picked up along the way:

-Anything less than full-house 158 gr loads will not reliably cycle the weapon
-Anything other than round-nose projectiles (e.g. TC, SWC) WILL reliably stove-pipe
-Anything other than FMJ (e.g. SJHP, SJSP) will rapidly seize the gas piston in its cylinder due to lead fouling
-Anything other than the Magnum Research-prescribed, double-top-secret Mossad operator grip and stance (not kidding. It's actually in the manual.) may cause failure to feed
-Touching, breathing on, or having negative thoughts about the magazine during operation may cause failure to feed (again, this is in the manual)

Sure is pretty though!

Includes:
-Five 9-rd factory mags
-Scope mount and NC-star 2.5x30 scope
-5-in-1 tool
-"Vintage" Desert Eagle soft case

An exciting new world of firearm diagnosis awaits you! All this could be yours for only $750!!!

***ADDED FOR CLARIFICATION: I don't believe there's anything mechanically wrong with this pistol. I think this is just how they are. It's entirely possible you'll hit on some ammo it "likes" or work-up the perfect load for it at your bench. In that case you got a deal on a cool range toy, and good for you! Me, I'm over it.

I've owned 2 of these. It's your ammo
They are very picky. Hot 357 magnum. Is all it likes.
No cheap perfecto.
I'm sure the mag springs could use some love but, doubt that's the initial problem.
I researched and went to cabelas and found 6 boxes of ammo and tested till I got it ppu.ammo worked
I'd take this ad down and do some research

Kahr. Is where you get parts for this
They have very little or can make you parts like
Guide rods ,guide rod dual clip, and springs .mag springs.
Every 3000 rounds they need to be replaced.
If this is a true IWI? The guide rod clip is the hardest to get so try not to break it lol.
Springs are easiest

Also whoever told you this gave you bad info:

Anything less than full-house 158 gr loads will not reliably cycle the weapon - NOT TRUE

-Anything other than round-nose projectiles (e.g. TC, SWC) WILL reliably stove-pipe - - MAG ISSUE

-Anything other than FMJ will rapidly seize the gas piston in its cylinder due to lead fouling - OTHER WAY AROUND CHIEF THATS WHY ITS NOT WORKING! YOU CANNOT USE FMJ AS THE BASE IS LEAD! ONLY HOLLOW POINTS!

-Anything other than the Magnum Research-prescribed, double-top-secret Mossad operator grip and stance (not kidding. It's actually in the manual.) may cause failure to feed . - WITH .44 YES WITH .357 NO

-Touching, breathing on, or having negative thoughts about the magazine during operation may cause failure to feed (again, this is in the manual)- THAT IS SO YOU MAN UP AND HANDLE IT . YES YOU MUST GRIP IT HARD FOR IT TO WORK AND DO NOT TOUCH THE MAG AT ALL.

I’ve had literally zero problems from both my .357 DE . One handed is easy

Soviet, these have been my personal experiences with it. And I've got no use for a picky pistola. Appreciate the concern, but it's SPM!
its not a picky pistol as the protocols for proper function are pretty simple but hey its your stuff and your loss. If the new buyer would like assistance in the proper way to maintain their pistol feel free to send PM. Happy to help get the pistol the proper care so it can shine!

Impart some wisdom on me! (via PM of course)

My experience is the same as the OP with the 357 but I have not tried much variety in ammo. My 44s and 50s are no problem.
