Item Description: A rare bird indeed. Only about 4,000 of these U.S. Property marked (WWII wartime contract) rifles were manufactured and issued with drilled and tapped receivers in 1944. This rifle is in very fine condition and comes with one magazine. Sling loops are intact, S-100 sight works perfectly. Bore is mint as almost ALL Mossberg "lead lapped" barrels are found. It shoots fine, even with Aguila Yellow and White box SV ammo. That's all I shoot in any of my Mossberg 44US rifles. I've won the local 50 yard rimfire match with a 44US many, many times. It's capable of fantastic accuracy. 44US owners know. Best bang for the buck you are going to find in a bolt action target/trainer rifle.

Awesome rifle, BTW! Dad had one of these in his collection. They are Moment-of-Gnat accurate even past 100 yards.

I am. Some jackass hit me in the head with a hammer he bought from some dude on the ODT then he tried to cut off my trigger finger with a $10 hacksaw he bought here, probably from the same seller. Can't recall his name. I think my assailant was just mad he kept losing the local .22 rimfire match to me.
