Item Name: FS Ol' Antique Jar Lid + Ol' Wood Base

Location: atl

Zip Code: 30318

Item is for: Sale Only
Sale Price: $500

Willing to Ship: Yes

Bill of Sale Required?: No

Item Description: Price will fluctuate as I gain knowledge. You tell me what it is? The wood base is also old and fits well as seen in pics BUT does not actually go with it.

See the burn marks / scorch marks on reverse side :embarassed: It also looks like some kind of OLD "caulk" around rim (see residue)?

Not a perfect *gap* where "caulk" is either, some of the sealing surface is wider than the other?

Enough guessing. You tell me, any idea exactly what I have? :dizzy:

Curious as to your valuation. Is that a stab in the dark? Terracotta has been made/molded for tens of thousands of years.
That item does not have any semblance of antiquity so I believe it to be mid-Century to present. So, not old.

So.....you feel it was maybe harvested in Wedowie, Al. late 1970's at the beef gristle mill or something along those lines?
