Item Description: I'm offering up a neat rifle from my collection. This Remington Model 8 shows all the signs of being a solid rifle that has been used and depended on over the years. It's serial number places it being mfg in 1930 and from what I can tell, all pieces are original and matching. It shows signs of having been drilled/threaded on the left side of the receiver for a scope at some point in the past. There are also markings that show were it had a tang sight installed at some point as well. It is equipped with a flip down rear sight and Lyman front sight. It also has a dime compass neatly installed in the top
of the stock. I removed the scope mount plug screws from the receiver and placed them in a small ziplock bag to prevent them from being lost. The forearm and stock are solid and free of any cracks and the metal crescent buttplate fits nicely to the wood. Upon disassembly/cleaning of this rifle, I stumbled upon a neat discovery inside the buttstock. I found an original spare firing pin wrapped in the original "Marbles Flexible Rear Sight"
instructions, and a Lyman Ivory Front Bead Sight pouch that still contains two front sights! (See pics as part of description) The bore of this rifle is shiny with strong rifling and it functions great. It has been cleaned, tested, oiled, and placed in the safe. A great addition to any outdoorsman's collection and. A must have for any vintage hunting rifle collector. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Located in Jasper, GA.
