This is a spring-driven, single-shot rifle with plenty of power for squirrels, etc.
High velocity means a stout spring, which is a little much for for my six-year-old shooting buddy, but just fine for bigger kids and adults.
The included scope is a Ruger-branded 4x32 which is mounted to a pretty nice Picatinney rail.
