Item Description: Very nice Smith and Wesson 3913 9mm, you don't see this model too often, truly one of the first single stack 9mms. It is SA/DA, stainless steel with black grip, aluminum frame, bobbed hammer. Sweet shooter, very reliable, I have never had a malfunction. Comes with 2 - 8 round mags. Has Saftey/Decocker. Please pm with questions.

Question:

I have a 3913 and a great gun it is,

BUT mine has an ambidextrous safety, which most S&W semi auto of this period had. Yours doesn't have that and apparently never did because the red "fire" indicator on the right side of the frame is missing.

Do you know if dropping the ambi safety is a later variation? Also, the serial no. and model no. are in different order, and different location than on mine.

Any input would be very helpful

That's a tempting piece, if I went 9mm w single stacks I'd fetch this. If any skinny guys want a DA for appendix carry, or someone wants a Safe piece for their wife or daughter this is the one.

From my research the LadySmith and NL (New Look or Not LadySmith, depending on who you ask,) versions did not have the ambidextrous safety while the Standard and TSW 3913s did have the ambition safety.
