Item Description: All matching and scarce Standard Small Arms (SSA) marked Peddled Scheme rifle. Includes a 1918 Wilkenson Sword Bayonet with scabbard.
SSA marked 1918 dated Lee Enfield G.R Short LE III* otherwise known as a Peddled Scheme rifle. These rifles were put together with locally manufactured albeit approved and correct parts from across UK factories in an effort to assist the British Govt to increase production of the Lee Enfield at a time when there was the shortage of WWI British rifle parts and production from the main factories of Enfield (EFD), London Small Arms (LSA) and British Small Arms (BSA). Any Enfield collector knows these rifles and its unique history. Has pristene barrel, metal is not fatigued, no rust or pitting.
Thinning some of my heard as they no longer all fit into the safes.
