I completely understand and appreciate the advice, honestly…thank you🙏🏻
My dad is still alive and was very clear to me that he was just not emotionally attached to this particular gun nor did he care if I kept it or sold it.

I’m not pressed for money and it’s just an opportunity for someone else to enjoy this beauty because life is short.

We had some really, really good times shooting together in the early 80’s and nothing could take that away, this gun was just honestly never a shooter of ours and so im just not attached nor link it mentally to those good times with him.

Now with all that being said…y’alls advice is from experience that I’m sorry you have…there’s no telling how I might feel…ughh

You’ve got me thinking…

At least you're thinking about it

Dang…y’all really made me think about the very real possibility of serious, serious regret selling this.
Thank you all for speaking up.
I’m going to keep it, and probably give it to my daughter in a few years.
I’ve already promised her my Colt 6720 for her 18th birthday(she is a sniper with it)…this may make a wonderful 21st gift.

My daughter currently 14yrs old loves going shooting with me in the national forest north of Helen.
We shoot AR’s, revolvers and semi’s…everything.
She had a blast shooting my Ruger GP1003inch especially the .357 rounds😎

In 1989, (when I was 9 yrs old) for Christmas my dad gave me a Smith & Wesson 34-1 4inch 22lr in nickel plated. I cherished that gun and kept it my entire life…it was one of my most cherished possessions. I’ve bought and sold dozens and dozens but never dared to sell that one.

For my daughter’s 14th birthday last month I handed that Smith 34-1 down to her, she is now the new legal owner. I presented it to her in a brand new Vault padded hard case with custom made vinyl graphics on the outside…a Father to Daughter heartfelt letter… the original purchase receipt…and a written/signed/dated authorization to allow her to have legal right to possess. (keep it locked up under my control until shes 18 though-im not irresponsible)

After some more deep consideration this fine Colt is back up available. I’m indeeed ready to part ways with it.
Tuesday morning this goes auction on gunbroker, this weekend and monday will be realistically the last opportunity to inspect pre-purchase and secure this grail revolver. I looked at the last 30 day comps of completed auctions to arrive at my firm price.
