Item Description: I recently inherited a MASSIVE Ho train collection from a great uncle I didn’t know very well. It has no sentimental value to me but to respect my uncle I would like to see his collection go to a good place. I have talked to a couple of model train retailers and they seem VERY interested.
Both wanted me to bring all 15-20 boxes full of stuff to them and leave it for them to go through and then make an offer.
That ain’t gonna happen lol. Both have agreed to come to my place to look at and evaluate the collection.
Both have said they are “very interested” and want to make an offer on the entire collection.
I have no idea what this stuff is worth. I would much rather trade it or sell it to an ODT brother at a good price than have a dealer/stranger get rich off my uncle’s lifetime passion because of my ignorance.

One box is full of locomotives. 20 or 30 of them. Many, many rail cars….lots of them still in box. Miles of used and unused track. Boxes and boxes of buildings, trees, etc.

I would also buy gas and lunch for any model train hobbyist that would come spend sometime going thru the collection to help me with value.
I’d hate to give away something valuable. My uncle might roll over in his grave.

You should be able to search the engines and cars or look at trainz in Gainesville for pricing comparison, wish i had the room to even begin to think about model trains
