Item Description: Looking to get the front sight removed and re installed on my Carbine so that the barrel band can be replaced. Should be a straightforward job, located in tucker but willing to travel a bit to get it done.

I thought all you had to do is drive out the pin and the front sight would come off. Am I wrong?
Once the pin is out, it still requires some careful hammering with a punch. I tried and failed, Fulton armory sells a puller and the description reads "Don't even think about attempting to remove a Carbine front sight without this tool". Seen Bubba on the Tube get it off without one but I'm not willing to hammer as hard as he did.

Good to know it is not as simple as removing the pin and the sight easily slides off. And I agree with you on the hammering. I don't like using a hammer on anything on my firearms.
