Looking to sell my project SR500. I got this a long while ago with plans to do a full teardown and scrambler/tracker build with it. I'm dealing with some health issues right now and being taxed to death so I could really use the cash at this time.
The bike is freaking cool. A 500cc single cylinder thumper, she starts like its still 1979. I have most of the original parts except the exhaust, it was a rusted broken mess so i just put a temporary pipe on it for testing. It runs (okay) to put a word on it, the only things I've done was clean the carb, a couple new fuel lines, oil and filter change, battery delete and a china special fuel tank that needs some fab to fit the frame correctly. It's currently held on with zip ties, lol.
It can be ridden if you'd like to test ride it but it has no reg, and no tail lights.
I can vouch it rides okay, and can also reach 80mph. It really needs tires.
I really never planned on selling this bike because it's so simple, rare and easy to work on but, circumstances. I also don't really know what these are worth so I'm open to negotiating on the price.
