from the discolored cylinder release and the look of the gun it looks like duracoat to me . You can see the patina on that one part like it wasn't coated . I could.be wrong but my old blued colts do not have that look

Not sure if Colt is the original finish? Most I have seen online seem more polished. If it was re-finished before me it was done right.I have had the gun several years and have not had it refinished. Let me know if you would like to see in person. Thanks, Eric 770-845-9291

It has been refinished originals were either bright blue or nickel But the refinish is excellent

Colt did produce guns with a black nitride/beadblast looking finish during a strike of their polishers. The Colt PeaceKeeper has this finish. Smaller parts where blued, but the frames and barrel had a black finish.
