Here I have a 1989 Chevy Corvette with the 5.7L L98 engine and the ZF6 manual transmission. Odometer reads 113,000 miles. I bought it as a project but life happens and I never got around to it so now I’m needing to decrease the project count. The guy before me converted it to run a carb but I do have a stock TPI setup that can go with it if you want it.
I do have the title in hand.
Pros:
It does run and drive!
If you know much about these Corvettes, these transmissions and the Dana 44 it has are highly sought after, are super solid, and can be easily parted out for about $2500 between the two. Some guys also use the suspension from these in their classic Chevy trucks/sedan builds. Or you can gut it and turn it into a Vette Kart like Roadkill and they are shockingly quick and nimble. The wheels are from a WS6 TransAm and a set just like them sold on eBay in September for $1600+ shipping with bad tires. There’s lots of other good parts that people are actively looking for if you have the desire to part it out. Lots of potential any way you slice it.
Cons:
It has some sort of knock. I’ve never had a car with a knock before so I’m not super familiar with the specific sound as far as which part is making the noise. I would trailer it. The guy before me obviously cut a hole in the hood for the carb. He also painted it with some sort of matte paint.
Could certainly be made into a fun driver, track car, or parts car or who knows, apparently people are putting mud tires on them and turning them into off-roaders too.
Asking $4000. As far as trades go, at a minimum it would have to be about half cash. I would primarily be interested in a partial trade for an Sig P365X carry package, an M1 Garand, lever guns, scout rifles or quality optics for rifles, carbines, and pistols. I have a new found interest in high speed/cool guy stuff too so I could be down with that depending one what it is.
