Yeah the good old elector pencil has trashed collector value on probably tons of guns o Dr the years. Wouldn't bother me none. There was an 870 on here a while back that had been a DOC gun way back when. That would be kinda cool to own especially if you could trace it back to somewhere like Jackson or Reidsville.

The cmp would disagree on the value aspect of it. Real gov guns often go for a premium to collectors. Heck looks at those retired 1911’s.

The only historic milsurp I would really like to own for the markings would be the captured or maybe I should call them repurposed Mauser rifles that were rebarreled in 308 in I believe Haifa Isreal. They had the Nazi Eagle and swastika markings along with the Star of David and Hebrew writing all on the same rifle. I've only seen them in the Shotgun News years ago.
