This is a Taylor fur getter shoots 22 short maybe 22lr. I’m not sure. It was produced in 1920 for trapping. I will entertain offers. There’s really no way to value it because only ones in existence seem to be sold at high end auctions only.

How the heck does this thing work? Bait the hook and critters pull the trigger themselves? This looks cool.

Yes and it is functional. You bait it and when the critter bites or pulls the bait it shoots them in the head. The ATF banned this type of trapping. But since this is serialized and can be dated to 1920 its exempt. It falls under C&R. My mom was given it from her father(my grandpa) when he passed. He was big into antiques not guns. Had a very extensive collection of swords from all over the world. This was the only firearm he had. Anyways she has decided to sell it.
