Looks like the top 2 pics are not the 617, looks more like a 686 or 586 nickel?

the 617 is the same frame as the 686

Yes, I just think some people were confused with the 2 different guns. I see you have correct the pics. Beautiful revolvers! I looked at all of the Smiths you have listed. If the 617 or 686 were 6" I'd probably be trying to round up enough money for both. GLWS

Do you prefer the 6 inch? The 4 inch is usually the more desired gun because of the balance it has.

I've owned a 6" in both guns and loved them. To be honest I don't know if I have ever even shot a 4" in either...maybe I should!!
