When Winchester introduced this gun years ago, I understand their objective was to duplicate the handling characteristics of their older and legendary Model 12 Pump. In my opinion they succeeded, and I always wondered why the SuperX had such a relatively short production life.

because it cost too much to manufacture. its all steel in there and Remington was making the 1100 so much cheaper that they slaughtered the SX-1 in sales. the SX-1 is also awful heavy for a field gun and the 1100 could do both field and skeet work.

The SX-1 is an awesome shotgun for skeet, though.

I use mine for everything, skeet, trap, sporting clays, 5 stand and FITASC

Very nice. GLWS I would buy this beauty but I'm already shotgun poor.
