Nice looking Springfield Armory from around November 1940 serial number! wood has a nice reddish patina with the normal dings and dents as you can see from the pictures! this is an old Danish return as per the serial number stamped in the wood! Barrel is shiny and free from any pitting! Circled p on grip shows it is an old stock I believe this is an old Marine Corps shooting team gun as it has been professionally glass bedded around the trigger group $1,000 firm

This is the first M1 that I have seen with a five digit serial number .....production ramped up in 42 and 43
