Yep. Id say hex reciever mosin that someone sporterized.
I'd have it checked to be sure that it wasn't rechambered. If I was a betting man I'd put money on its still in 7.62x54r, but who knows. These things came in for next to nothing $ wise. The actions are strong and they could be converted to other calibers by gunsmiths seeking a challenge. Wasnt done very often though, but I know a few folks that did it
