It's time for feedback 3 inch 1911s

3 inch 1911's have more bark and bite to them. Usually noticeably louder and the recoil may not be more but just less grip to hold onto. I've shot a few and they were all accurate but no fun at the range. I love my Eclipse Pro, its a 4" and the smallest of the 1911 series I'll own.

I'm pretty sure there is a reason most of the high end 1911 manufacturers don't make a 3 inch, but I can't remember at the moment and I'm too lazy to go look for it again.

My EDC is a Sig Ultra compact 1911(3.3" barrel). It is absolutely reliable and a pleasure to shoot. I did have an issue with the first round out of the mag stopping against the feed ramp if it was a Hornady Crit Def but have pretty much determined that it is the rubber insert in the hollow point acting as a brake against the ramp. If the round is in any other position it is fine. But in the pole position I guess the rubber and the tension of the mag combined to stop it.

I EDC with 230 grain Remington Golden Sabers and it's smooth.

As far as the noise...I shoot with ear muffs on so I haven't noticed any problems. Recoil is very comfortable. Accuracy is outstanding for a combat pistol. I haven't take it out to beyong 10 yards or so and doubt I ever will.

I used to have a Kahr PM45 and THAT was an abusive handful to shoot. But at 19 oz that's to be expected.
