The lil RIA I had was a great shooter. I find any 1911 easy to shoot, short or long...........

I'm kind of partial to mine with a compact frame and commander length slide. Bit more velocity. I carry a flush WC mag with full size 47's with compact adapters as reloads. Short barrels would carry easier IWB.

I have the Springfield EMP in 40 caliber and love it. I did add Crimson Trace grips.

My EDC is a Springfield ultra compact V10. Only issue was that my mag didnt sit high enough to feed hollow pts properly. Bought an EGW mag catch which made the mag sit just a hair higher. Fixed my prob and have put hundreds of rounds down it to check reliability as most will tell you horror stories on how anything other than a government length 1911 just sucks. Easy to conceal and im not carrying a Glock......


have owned Kimber ultras also with no issue, but my only concern was the finish on being an EDC

Never had luck with any 3" 1911. The only one that ran right was a $550 Citadel. I won't own another 3-3.5" 1911 again. They just aren't reliable IMO.

I really enjoy my RIA 3.5" 1911. It's my edc in cooler months.

I have a Kimber Ultra Carry 11 in 9mm, other than it being a pain in the ass to get apart, it runs fine. Its snappy as compared to my Sig229, but other than that, it runs fine. The frame jabs me in the ribs when I sit down, would like it more if it was bobtailed. I like my XDs better, but its still getting the upgrade.

Breakdown is easier if you have a normal guide rod.

Cheap (basic) 1911's suck.
