I've changed my mind about the Second Amendment

There are other issues involved here as well. How many life long criminals are being made by our current prison systems? Kid gets caught with too much weed and goes to prison. Gets out of prison and has learned all kinds of new criminal behavior.

Of course there are. Prisons that operate for profit have lots of motivation to keep numbers up.

Imagine if it were legal for cops to keep any contraband they found. How many legally possessed guns would be stolen by police? That kind of conflict of interest isn't a good thing.

At that point you have paid your debt to society have you not? Should they be stripped of the right to illegal search and seizure as well....just in case they might be hiding something?

I think I now agree with this as well. If they have paid their debt to society then they should have all the same rights as you and me. If they should not be able to possess a firearm then they should not be allowed in society and should remain in prison. They can do just as much harm without a gun via other means.

Either they should completely be released into society or not.

To use a gun rights argument, since when do criminals obey the law? After release from prison, the honest folks will follow the law and not possess firearms...those that return to criminal behavior will get their hands on guns anyway.

Question,

A felon has his rights taken away because of his actions, to get your rights back, voting, and other benefits, or privileges back, don't you have to get a PRESIDENTAL PARDON, for being a felon?

If that is true, then just serving time would not give your rights back would it?

Only asking, would like to know a little more why are we so bend on giving something (rights) back to the felon, that in a way he just did not value and threw away himself?

How many of your rights should you lose if you cheat on your income tax? Free speech, illegal search and seizure, right to bear arms?

By the way, I'm not talking about "benefits" or privileges, I'm talking about RIGHTS.

Do you not get your 1st, 4th, 5th, etc back?

Can you imagine a scenario where you think a person should lose their First Amendment rights?
