I've changed my mind about the Second Amendment

Their rights were not TAKEN away, they were GIVEN away. Abide by the laws of society, or pay the price. Lose your 2a rights or your life, they knew where the path led.

I can agree with this in principle, IF we apply the felony claim to actual Capital or infamous crimes. However today in practice there are many paths to a felony conviction that do not rise to the level required (IMHO).

So how far do you think laws should be able to amend your rights?

Who do you think should get to decide?

Should those laws be periodically re-evaluated and if so should it be done democratically or by an individual?

*****I know intonation doesn't translate very well via text on here, so just to be clear, I'm not being combative or argumentative, I'm honestly interested in your opinion.*****

Don't confuse a liberal with facts, feelings are all they understand BOO HOO, just because they have paid their debt to society doesn't mean that they will not repeat, more often than not it proves that they will. Why make it easier?

So you should always treat anyone that has broken the law as a criminal? What facts are you talking about? Seriously it's FACT that a tax cheat will become a murderer? Come on man, you're wasting everyone's time with your remedial arguments.

First, I am no liberal. Second, you are the one basing on feelings. Take a look at when felons lost the right to keep and bear arms, sure wasn't at the time of founding of this Republic.

It sounds like you are making an argument for penalizing future Crime, No reasonable person should find that to be ok and that is not whats going on here. You commit a felony you loose your 2nd amendment rights permanently end of story.

Now some may ask what is preventing government to lower the threshold of felony to speeding so it could disarm us all? and the answer is same thing that prevents them from just banning and confiscating all guns.

So your argument is based on fear and assumption that all criminals are untrustworthy, and you then have the balls to suggest that I am not arguing from a vantage point of "fact"? There is no fact here, you're simply parroting talking points. Why not sprinkle in some Obummer, or "spread the wealth" into your argument...it'd be even more hilarious.

Go back and re-read that quote. No where did I say that.

Again...trying really hard here....in boot camp you are deciding to not exercise your first amendment right. It hasn't been taken from you.

Once again, my friend, an inalienable right cannot be surrendered. This isn't like going to work for a company. The worst they can do is reprimand or fire you. The military can incarcerate you for exercising these rights while you are enlisted.
