And I would be curious to know how long the yote sits there without anything touching it. I have said many times even the buzzards won't touch the nasty dead yotes, and that has been my experience in the woods, but I'd be curious to see how long one sits more in the open like this one.

Well, it has been reduced to a fuzzy lump of nothing thanks to the maggots. Buzzards never touched it. (Even saw one fly over today and never showed any interest).

His buddies were just in the back yard aggravating my dogs. Tomorrow I just may have to make a conscious effort to ruin another one's day...

Btw I have more yotes on camera this year than ever before, and my dog has twice brought home pieces of fawns... I have some work to do again.

Well dang it. Just before 8 I see one lopping across the pond bed. Grab 10/22, step out on deck and start lip squeeking. He came in ON A STRING and hot, eyes and ears up. I had to bark to stop him and I don't know what in the world happened but... I apparently missed! #$$%^&*!!!! And it wasn't 40 yards. He turned inside out and made distance.

Poor? Not so much. Him and his running buddies have been living pretty fat. Helpless? Oh, definitely not. Dog? I suppose technically you could call it that. I prefer to call them "non-native, invasive, fawn eating, hell-spawn, marauders!" But 'dog' works too I guess.
