So, are are you going to have the chamber cast or otherwise measured to determine the correct cartridge to use?

Check the model designation on the receiver, if it is a Brazilian DWM/Mauser Model 08/34.30 (K98-style Rifle) it could be in 30-06.

It is not a 08/34 only a 1908 and a 30-06 did not fit
