Great thread. Thanks for posting the video on self rescue. Been seeing an old girlfriend and stand up paddle boarding and kayaking in the Upstate of SC this month. We love both, lots of laughs. Who knew that it was so easy to roll one? LOL! Thankfully we were in the shallows when she grabbed my gunnel (for what reason remains a mystery) and tipped us both over. I realize it may have been incredibly dumb to not practice righting the kayaks in deep water first and we'll get on that next week. We've been paddling a small lake (Robinson) up North of Greenville. It's so much fun. Not ready to try fishing yet but we've talked about that too. More time practicing using one first I think.

Here’s pics from last weekends fishing trip with my now 9 year old son and a few of the fish he caught. I generally fishing out of a Jackson Coosa actually it’s one of the first ones they made. I have fishing out of a lot of different kayaks and currently own 12 in our family fleet. The Jackson fishing kayaks are incredible.

Anyone use a trailer to transport/put your kayak in the water ? I bought a new seaghost 130. I had a older one. It seemed lighter and not as heavy. The new damn near made me feel like I was going to pop a ball carrying it in the water.

Absolutely! Not only is it easier, but you can leave a lot more of the rigging for fishing in place than you can with it is on a roof, so it's a lot faster getting it in the water.

This has no bearing on choosing a kayak but tomorrow I am delivering a trailer load of Vibe Kayaks down to Florida. These are some solid boats. The largest I've got is 13' and the smallest is around 11' and boy are these things stout. Nothing like the little cheap rentals. I can't wait to unwrap these with the customers tomorrow. There are 4 going to the panhandle, 2 to Orlando, 1 to the Atlantic coast and 1 to around West Palm Beach.
