This. I just ordered a new induction cooktop because ours died after 10 years. I could run out and drop one in easy enough, but nothing is in stock and we need to cook/eat. It will get here Friday and it was $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. We were desperate, if you have time to wait for a sale, do that. Before buying at Lowes or HD check their return policy. Supposedly, both have changed and if you have issues after 48hr of delivery you deal with the manufacturer. Plus a lot of the stuff is delivery only and not at the store to see or buy. The delivery and install service is 3rd party and some are better than others. The guys installing my dryer didn't have the right cord and I was on my own.
If I had to buy anything I would check Costco. Better service, return and extended warranty. The down side is they fewer selections and I don't trust LG or Samsung for refrigerators.
