Thank you I bought it bacause it was not stainless. I like the patina and it holds an edge

Wow to have the same knife for 50 years is amazing and super cool. The things y’all have seen together.
Yes a good knife and a prewar Smith and Wesson K22 Outdoorsman = best friends. I remember cleaning trout with that knife when I was about 17. I broke the tip on the big blade (doing something stupid I am sure).

My Grandmother was a farmer most of her 95 years on this planet. She kept an old Missouri flat rock under her sink for knife sharpening. I asked her to show me how but never could do much with my Grandmother's rock. I put my knife away for a while at Mom's house in Decatur. Years later when she passed and I had to do house prep for sales, there it was right where I left it. So I reshaped the broke end and put an edge on it. I like a Wa****a Arkansas stone.

I have a small farm now so I carry it all day. My girl is always asking "can you open this?" Got tired of asking her "where is your knife?" She can't keep up with much and guess what its always my fault.

I also have a Shrade Old Timer (single blade) I bought about 1977 at Oshman's Northlake Mall. Gave five whole dollars for it. Still got it and I have cleaned lots of catfish and flounder with it. Holds a good sharp edge.

You are right on the mark about looking at stuff and remembering the good (and the bad).

I picked up a custom sodbuster a while back from Box Creek Knives. He added a half stop (which is amazing) and force patina'd the blade. The covers were swapped to vintage Westinghouse micarta and a lanyard hole was added.
