So sad that this happens more than it should. Spouses mistakenly shooting each other, parents shooting their kids, and so on. Another reminder to ALWAYS know what/who you are shooting at (identify target) and ALWAYS have a light ( a weapon mounted light is not enough, you need to also be able to shine a light without pointing a gun at someone thats not a threat). http://www.wesh.com/article/woman-f...mistaking-her-for-intruder-police-say/4446669

I have an agreement with my wife and have practiced our drill hoping she will remember if suddenly awakened. It is simply for her to roll off her side taking a carefully placed 9mm & light, spare mag to the floor and cuddle into a cubby out of sight with gun and light in hand (light off though) giving me a clear line of sight and fire over bed towards door and to stay there light out until I say clear call 911 or she knows I'm down, then stay till perp enters bedroom then nail his ass till it stops shooting load spare and prepare for more if there are any. Preparation is as important as knowing how to react. No children in my home, all grown and moved on.

"I mean, it's the holidays. It's very sad for any family member, especially a mother, you know, to accidentally kill their daughter. My condolences for the family. I'm imagining all St. Cloud is grieving as well," Rivera said.

So, for a mother to accidently shoot her daughter on a non holiday isn't nearly as sad?

I have a light within reach of my bed. I have to get out of bed to reach my pistol, however. Want to be sure I am fully awake before picking up a weapon. Target identification needs to be the prevailing thought when confronting in your home at night.

Scared little bitches shouldn't own firearms. They shoot at mirrors and shadows. I call them pussies.

Same with hunters shooting at movement or a twitch in a bush.

Pussies and dumbasses.
