Seems to me there ought to be a way to prevent animals from climbing the pole... that way would involve two hot wires, one on each side of the pole, these wires only insulated on the back side, the pole itself being a conductor to the ground... also involving a battery, a voltage transformer, a capacitor....

They love my corn! Coon population much greater than the dear! Mabey need to go to feeding a protein? Instead of straight korn!

Im thinking about putting something big like maybe stove pipe 4” diameter over mine this season. I think the smaller size poles let them get their grubby paws around enough to get traction
