57 here too. Paid well, but the stress was commensurate, so early retirement it was!

Congratulations!! I retired 22 years ago and haven’t missed the job one bit. 25 years as a mail carrier. My wife retired the last day of August last year after 40 years as a mail carrier. Like me she doesn’t miss the job, but misses some of her coworkers and a lot of her customers. Since she has retired I now work for her!!
Yea, now you know what she's wishing for.......🤣

Wana bet........🤣You'll always have the occasional day with a schedule. I hate those days. And sometimes you just can't sleepOne morning you will wake up in a panic wondering why you missed your alarm !!
Then you will take a deep breath and remember you don't need an alarm any more and go back to sleep
Was thinking the same with my dad. Figured he wouldn't last long after retirement. That was 28 years ago and he's still rocking along.
He would be doing much better if he hadn't gotten the Wu-Flu shot and having the heart problems he has now. Hard for him to go hunting and walk very far.

I’m 6 months into retirement and have already taken a little nothing job working week days 8-12.
After 45 years of working with the public I found that quitting cold turkey just wasn’t for me🤷♂️🤷♂️
