Leaving for Army, want some advice.

Listen to your drill sergeants. Do what they say. Don't be a smartass. Don't let your First Sergeant learn your name.

Fly under the radar, give everything your all, and you should do just fine.

Oh, and if you're not a runner, the time to start is now.

I did not serve in the Army, but did in the Air Force. But I am sure that some things do carry over. Sound advise from jwhited. Just do what you are told, to the best of your ability. I know the Air Force was all about tearing you down mentally, then building you back up to instill confidence. I am sure the Army DI's will do the same thing. Good luck and thank you for your service!

There's nothing anyone can say that you won't find out first hand. Everything is different thru another persons eyes. Millions upon millions have done it before and you'll do it too. Good luck. DON"T raise your hand to volunteer to be a "driver". I never saw anyone cut grass but I saw many pogues sweeping and mopping.

Very good advice.....Glad to see things have not changed much in the last 45+ years. Would only add, you should have started running last week (as long & as far as you think you can & then just keep going)

That just about covers it. Oh, and don't volunteer for anything in basic.

Thank you for your service.

All good advice so far but I was in the National Guard and got to come home after basic and ait. Love your family and keep them number one. But you're gonna miss 'em during basic.

Good luck and stay safe!
