Leaving Group 4

11 months today

Any other quitters hanging in here?
Been off cigarettes for 12 years now. Hardest thing I ever did. After about two years I quit having dream dreams that I was smoking. After 4 or 5 years I quit thinking they smelled good every time someone was smoking around me. I gained 20 pounds that I have never been able to shed but I am sure the benefits outweigh the little weight gain.

I'm at 60 days now, coffee and booze nearly got me a couple times, so I gave them up for almost a month. I'm a gum chewing son of a gun, and have added a few pounds, nothing drastic. I'm pretty sure I can make it from here. Just have to avoid tequila. Many of my best laid plans have been foiled by tequila.

At one year in, is it still a daily struggle, 3clicks_Off 3clicks_Off ?

Best wishes for DADI03 DADI03 , @tas6691 , and Spas-12 Owner Spas-12 Owner !
Congrats and hang in there.
It gets easier as time passes but I still get a slight urge every once in a while, but nothing you can't shake

Congrats and thanks.

I'm fading it out. The cold Turkey hasn't worked for me. I told my wife that when l get a new truck l wouldn't smoke in it. I got a new truck the week before Christmas. Basically l just smoke at work now. I've cut way back. I'm down to about a 1/4 or less than before.

I took a month to quit by cutting back how many a day. It's the only way that works for me, other wise I just start a new habit. It gets easier but every day I miss it

Gum has replaced Cigarettes for going on 4 years: there’s 2 of the cylinders in each truck at all times.

I could smoke a Marlboro Menthol big as you right now, but I’m not going too.

Anybody else done the Chantix? My previous attempts at cold turkey only lasted about 5 or 6 hours. It made me a little nauseous every time I lit up. Just had to commit to taking the Chantix really.
