I'm not really a hog hunter. I've been a few times but it just isn't for me. I was hiking in the Cohutta Wilderness today and came across two half starved dogs with tracking collars on. I fed them some granola bars and coaxed them into following me on the trail. When I got to my truck I put them in the back and headed towards Blue Ridge. I called the number on their collars and the man who answered asked if I'd meet him. I met him and gave him his dogs. After he thanked me, I asked him what he'd been hunting with the dogs. He acted like he didn't want to say so I just came out and asked if he'd been dogging hogs and he said yes. I love dogs and didn't really like the idea of giving these dogs back to him so they could live in some muddy pen 7 days a week and then get gored by hogs on the weekend. They were his dogs so I didn't say anything. I'd just like to know if it is legal to hunt hogs with dogs on Cohutta. If it is then no wonder it's so hard to find deer up there.
