Let's see your Defense Shotty!

Back in the day, a semi was finicky to what loads worked best in it. A pump was not. Semis and ammo have come a long way since then
I would be happy with either a semi-auto or a pump action, if both seemed reliable. To each his own. I have seen more problems with semi-autos, so that does affect my point of view, but the sample size isn't enough for me to think it's universal. I have a plane jane utility shotgun that is semi-auto and it's cycled fine with what I have fed it.

I'm not making an argument for shotty vs other for home defense. This was a simply defense scattergun pic thread.

I'm simply surprised that the go-to for many is a pump. Which, by nature, requires two hands to operate. Not a great idea in a defensive state given that you could have an arm injured, need to be shuttling people around, moving obstacles etc. Your weapon requiring 2 hands to operate seems counterproductive, at best.

Get one of those lever shotguns and pull a Terminator move on em! Getter done!

Bow and arrow? Wussy! I use a sling shot with marbles. 🤣
That reminds me of a story that went a little something like this.

Me and my buddy use to get into pellet gun wars. One day all I had was a slingshot and some rocks when the war started.

After one medium sized rock got launched the war was over. ;)

Hit my buddy in the knuckle of his right hand at around 30 yards. Thinking it broke his knuckle but he never got it seen by a doctor.
