Lets see your roller lock gun porn( mp5,g3, ptr’s)

Well I have 1 ETS mag , I’m going to sand it down tomorrow until it fits freely in the C89 and the C94. Then I’ll see how it fits in the AR lower that takes MP5 mags. If it doesn’t suit me I’ll throw it at JDS when I see him
LOL ! :boink:

I’ve got 7-8 of the KCI Gen 2 mags. Most still sealed in the packages. I’ve got 2 that I’ve put about 100 rounds each thru in 2 different guns without issues. They are pretty loose in the magwell , but I don’t have any other guns to compare to . I don’t know if all MP5’s are a loose magwell or not I’ve seen a lot of back and forth in forums , hard to get a consensus.

PTR went to the ETS mags because KCI upped their unit cost to the manufacturer. PTR struck a deal with ETS so now you get the plastic mags with a PTR MP5 clone. That's fine it it's to be a range toy but if you plan to shoot PCC matches you'll want steel mags, US or German. Paki mags may be good to go too, no experience with them. The ETS mags may work but you have to use ridiculous force to remove them from the magwell when empty.

I wish my magwell was that tight. Even though I just passed 1700 rounds down range with zero malfunctions mines probably on what most would call the “loose” side. Everything fits in mine with ETS and Germans fitting the best. POF fitting the most loose (and mines a POF MP5k Reverse Stretch) that being said I’ve used mostly POF when shooting and never had any isssues. Not one hiccup. 115-147 grain

Got 4-5 other MP5s that come through the shop to shoot. All POF and one AA89 Atlantic arms build. There’s varying levels of “loose”. Some are tighter than others but none have any sort of issues, including the Atlantic build, so I can only imagine they’re all within spec. We all were there one night just sharing mags.

They tighten up with the bolt forward of course but with the bolt to the rear some have vertical and horizontal shake to an extent.

Literally haven’t seen one of them choke yet. All the POFs (other than mine) were using German and POF mags. The AA was using mostly ATI and KCI mags and I threw him a couple ETS mags to fit. I been using the biggest hodge podge of mags

Yayyyyyy! But I hope it works haha. I usually short stack ALL my mags by 1 round for bolt forward loading. That’s a known MP5 thing just load 28/29 in the 30s and 14 in the 15 rounder and keep all the others topped off

Got that spare parts kit looking right

My next project. Got one for the AR’s and for the Mac’s !
Make sure to get some feeler gauges and check your bolt gap, see if you think you’ll need some + 2 or + 4 rollers to keep on hand for later.

Depending on your bolt gap right now may need -/+ rollers just to get in spec .010 (min) - .020 (max) with .018 being the sweet spot.

Extractor springs are number 1 maintenance item. One malfunction can bend an extractor spring out of spec.

If you don’t have a gen 3 German ejector lever in yours go ahead and get one and use your gen 1 as a back up.

I got a recoil spring because reverse stretch uses a proprietary size and wanted to secure that.

If you’re gonna run a K variant suppressed with 147 grab a #28 80 degree locking plate for your bolt or you’ll seriously risk damaging your receiver (roller dents)

Roller retaining plates (plate style gen 1) have a tendency to fracture over time or if you’ve swapped rollers and scored the plate trying to knock the roll pin back in and missing the hole. I bought some plates and a corresponding amount of roll pins to secure them.

I grabbed extra extractor claw, ejector spring and axel, firing pin & spring as well.

Thanks ! I’ve got some learning to do for sure ! It will be shot almost all the time suppressed I guess when I get it I have some figuring out to do or find a smith that knows them .
