On a side note I hear LaGard electronic locks are pretty liable. If you have to get a safe with an electronic lock try to get one with a Lagard lock
A friend of my dad did it for $300 he said it usually is like $500 ,I got a LaGard mechanical dial like the ones he puts on bank vaults
Why anyone would buy a safe with a electronic keypad is beyond me. Junk.
Nonsense... both occasionally fail.
Rarely does a quality E-lock fail without warning, in this case the lock DID warn the OP and show many redflags that the lock was on the way out but he was told by a dealer online that he only needed replace the keypad which put the OP in this situation.
It would have been good if the safe also had a backup key
