Anybody else shoot more of those light colored doves? We had very few what I call mourning doves. They were all those really light colored birds. I heard somebody call them ringnecks, but no ring on the ones I killed.

If they are larger than a Mourning Dove, there is a chance they are Collared Dove. However, it's rare that they would not have a visible collar across the back of their neck, but possible. If you can be SURE they are Collared Dove, they do not count toward your limit. They don't even have a closed season. They are an invasive species and are not protected in any way.

Ok... I'm goin back this afternoon and I'll check on the collar. They are def bigger, almost pigeon sized. Thanks
