Lightest Level IV plates and carrier?

I have a condor operator carrier with RMA armaments level IV plates. Works and fits great but it’s just so damn heavy after a couple hours. I’d like to swap it out before the weather starts to warm up so I’m not out here sweating like a whore on nickel night again.

I have traded my RMA IV 8 pound plates for some L210. Those are like 4 each. Less 30-06 protection but also not crazy expensive. Check U210 if you have a solid budget.

This is something I’ll use almost everyday so price isn’t an issue. I’m really looking for something lighter profile without sacrificing the protection of level IV plates.

The lightest Level IV plate you will find will be Boron Carbide Ceramic composites. They come in at about 5 pounds. But you better buckle your chinstrap when you get ready to pay for that reduction in a couple of pounds, they run about $1200 a plate!

As far as carriers, Paraclete, Ferro Concepts, Mayflower, HSGI, Firstspear, Eagle....lots of good carriers out there. At least 500D and bartacking at all the stress points is the minimum standard for good kit.
