Liquor Hauler

Neat car. Would have made a good hauler. Shame it never made the road with a load. Could have been legendary.
Article didn’t say, wonder if it has the overdrive tranny.

I horse-traded for a 49 Ford once in the 60s. In NC. Traded it to a buddy in a few days. Buddy pulled back seat out. Found a 120 gallon stainless steel liquor tank in it. I coulda got more money.

In the movie Thunder Road, Robert Mitchum drove a white 1951 Ford. The bad guys drove a 1957 tanker. Remember when Mitchum rolled the white 1951 and it came out of a cloud of dust a black 1950?

My stepdad’s last hauler was a ‘51 Ford business coupe running a 283 Corvette engine and the Ford’s 3 on the tree overdrive transmission.
That was back in 1960.

The story is that this was a runner that went off the road at Amicalola Falls in NW Georgia.
